Ultrasound
Ultrasound uses reflected sound waves to image inside the body. Similar
to an echo from a canyon wall the ultrasound machine can send out a high-frequency
and inaudible sound wave then sense the strength and distance from the echoes
to reconstruct images of tissues and fluid. A small transducer that both
sends and receives the sound waves will be placed against your body in the
area to be imaged.
